A passionate home cook, Allison has worked for Martha Stewart, Food Network, and Atkins as a food stylist, recipe developer, and cookbook editor. Her writing and recipes have appeared in Saveur, Fine Cooking, Glamour, Real Simple, and Everyday Food. She was a host of Lifetime's "Cook Yourself Thin" and TLC's "Home Made Simple." Allison is a graduate of Cornell University and The Institute for Culinary Education and she has a Masters degree in Food Studies from New York University.     I'm an avid Cooking Light fan and adore their cookbooks - this c

    I'm an avid Cooking Light fan and adore their cookbooks - this cookbook is one for the collection. I love the photos and the vignettes on the locales under which the recipes are premised. The only reason this one is not higher rated is the fact that many of the recipes are "repeats" of several other cooking light cookbooks. The recipes are either "keepers" or "duds" - no in-between. Having grown-up & currently living in the Midwest, I am impressed with the "comfort food" classics that are available in this book. Unfortunately, part of eating well / healthy is to not frequent these recipes so having a "light" version available when I'm craving something from my youth is the main reason I purchased this cookbook. On that front, it does not disappoint. If you are looking for a way to enjoy comfort food "lightly" and want a beauty of a cookbook, this one is for you!
