Overview

Emily Rosenbaum is that mother; you know, the one who avoids chemicals, minimizes food waste, shops locally, fears sugar, hides from corn byproducts, and tries to convince her son that lemonade is not a fruit. Don’t even get her started on BPAs. Six years after making her first batch of muffins, she’s not just pureeing squash and baking bread. She’s forming little lumps of chicken-apple-spinach mush into nuggets, coating them in homemade breadcrumbs, and lovingly brushing them with olive oil. She is poised on the edge of craziness, unless she toppled in last Tuesday.

In Cooking on the Edge of Insanity, Rosenbaum shares recipes and tells the tale of living sustainably while cooking for a family of five.

Don’t bother to tell her she’s nuts. She already knows.

    Witty, Informative, Fun...A Lovely Read!

I am a long-time reader of Emily's writing, and I was thrilled when she mentioned that she had published this little gem. Those wanting a "Gooseberry Patch" type of experience will not find it here, (although "Insanity" does have its own share of sweet moments); however, that is one of the things I enjoyed most about this book. It is, by turns, a rallying cry to more natural eating, a collection of Emily's healthy recipes that even her pickiest eater will chow down on (check out her homemade tortilla recipe), and an honest, open and often slyly hilarious family memoir, it defies the traditional cookbook genre wonderfully, I believe. I found "Cooking At the Edge of Insanity" delightful, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great read and some great food at the same time.

    Witty and Funny

This is a witty, smartly written book with some interesting recipes which may delight my picking kids at home. I laughed through the read and am looking forward to trying out the recipes over the next few weeks.

    A must buy!!!
