Storm, a handsome chef, claims to have a secret weapon: an aphrodisiac menu that her patrons won't be able to resist. It certainly works on Abby - who gives in to the passions she has denied herself for years.

But can this playboy chef really be Abby's hero if her body means more to him than her heart, and his initial plan was to steal the restaurant from under her nose? Storm soon turns the restaurant around, but Abby's insatiable desires have taken over her life. She's never known a guy into crazy sex like him before, and she wants to spend every spare moment getting as much intense erotic pleasure as she can. Not my cup of tea!!!!

Is this supposed to be erotic romance?! It is erotic all right, but there is nothing romantic about it...unless you would call it that when two lead characters meeting each other, having a lot of sex with each other, and then saying their I love yous to each other in the end. Oh, but wait, in between the book our female character goes and have more sex with other men and a woman. I would have not pick up this book if the synopsis would have been more detailed. If you prefer erotic romance with characters in monogamous relationships, then read authors such as Lori Foster, Cheryl Holt, and Robin Schone.

    A sizzling romance

On Cape Cod, Abby Coates worries that her restaurant The Coates Inn is going bankrupt. Still she advertises for a chef in Restaurant Monthly as she knows without one the place will go bust. Desperate, she accepts the weird offer of a stranger, chef Storm Dupre, whose only ambition in life is to make love to a myriad of women. Bored of the females in Los Angeles, Storm responded to Abby¿s ad, but insists that his recipes use secret ingredients that will bring in repeat patrons and ultimately make her inn the in spot of all of Eastern Massachusetts.................................... Storm develops an all-aphrodisiac menu that Abby buys into as she finds her body melts faster than heated butter when he kisses her. He enjoys the interlude with his ¿boss¿, but knows he must never allow dessert to interfere with the main course, stealing Abby¿s restaurant from her................................. COOKING UP A STORM is a whimsical contemporary romance starring two intriguing lead characters. Abby is a delightful somewhat naive soul while Storm lives up to his name as he is a northeasterner causing havoc to the heart of heroine. The use of aphrodisiacs may turn off some readers and profanities others, but fans of a gourmet romance will enjoy the oysters served up by Emma Holly....................... Harriet Klausner

Steam and romance! 4.5 Abby Coates owns and operates The Coates

    Steam and romance! 4.5

Abby Coates owns and operates The Coates Inn in Cape Cod, but business isn’t doing so well. She needs a chef and an infusion of cash to do renovations to get her lovely inn back in the black. If she can’t do either she’ll have to declare bankruptcy.

Enter Storm Dupre. A very talented chef from California, Storm needs to get away from the atmosphere of fakeness that surrounds him. When he spies Abby’s ad in the back of a food magazine he falls instantly in love. With The Coates Inn. He senses the owner is desperate and he plots to buy out the inn and make it his own. But we all know about best-laid plans, right?

Ah, Emma Holly, how I love thee, let me count the ways. While this book was originally published in 1998, I didn’t discover Emma Holly until about seven years ago. She has a way of putting the reader right there among her characters and when the scene gets smokin’ hot, well, a voyeur would be right at home.

Take Abby and her sudden need to dump her long term boyfriend who just wasn’t doing it for her just before Storm rolls into her life. Storm loves cooking and sex and he’s made it his life’s passion to be the best at both. He unlocks something in Abby that she didn’t even know was there and now she’s free to explore. And boy does she explore, with Storm and with others. *fans self*

I loved Abby taking charge of her sexual exploration. Some might call her a slut for it, but how can a person know what they like if they don’t experiment? If she were a man no one would raise an eyebrow and that double standard pisses me off. Go, Abby, go!

I didn’t expect to love Storm and his cocky attitude, but underneath it all he has some vulnerabilities that he has to deal with and it makes him an endearing character rather than an irritating one.

Secondary characters are well-fleshed and add a lot to the quality of the story. I wouldn’t mind seeing more stories involving everyone mentioned. All-in-all a smokin’ hot romance.

    Not my type of book

The anal masterbation, anal sex, and menage-a-trois is really not my cup of tea; however, Emma Holly does create great characters and a great story line. Especially the heroin who is developed rather beautifully throughout the book (with the help from the hero, of course). While it is not the type of book that I would like to read over and over again, I'm sure there are other readers who would disagree and who would buy more books from this author.

If I could give it higher than a 5 I would!!!!

This is my first Emma Holly but it DEFINITELY will not be my last. This book had me hooked from page one. This is erotic fiction at it's absolute best. It's not only H-O-T!!! but it tells a story about people's darkest fears and ultimate fantasies...Abby is one lucky lady. ~Sigh~ Can't wait to get to the store and buy more.

    A Buffet of Sizzling Sex.

This novel had all the elements of a good book: sex, intrigue, and more sex. The descriptions of all the delicious food being served was kind of sexy also. I could almost smell the aromas.

    Hot and spicey!

Abigail 'Abby' Coates knew her restaurant, The Coates Inn, would go out of business unless she did something soon. So when a handsome chef, Storm Dupré, offers to help she jumps at the chance! Storm wants to change the menu a bit and add an aphrodisiac menu that patrons won't be able to resist and come back for more! ..................... Abby quickly learns that Storm is not only awesome in the kitchen, but in bed as well. Storm introduces Abby to her erotic side! Abby takes to passion like a duck does to water. In fact, Abby is so close to Storm that she does not see that he is out to steal her restaurant out from under her very cute nose. ..................... **** HOT! HOT! HOT! Be warned, this is an Erotica Romance! So expect lots of steamy scenes. Oh, and those scenes will be the type that old 'bodice rippers' are just too dainty to plunge into! Now do NOT go thinking 'Erotica = XXX'. You would be wrong. Unlike those types of movies/books, Erotica Romance is simply a romance with super hot love scenes. Yes, this book has a plot. So think 'Modern Contemporary Romance + lots of interesting ways to make love'. Keep your loved one close, Ladies. If this book does not heat up your blood, then you are officially dead. ............... Author Emma Holly has created several interesting characters and placed them all in the Cape Cod area. Just like 'real' restaurants, Abby must deal with the possibility of losing the business she so loves. Worse, how does one deal with finding out your lover is trying to stab you in the back? Great reading! Highly recommended! ****
