I'm a huge fan of these recipes and I've been eating so well ever since they came out. I've also lost about 15 pounds in the last 3 months, thanks to Trader Joe's and thanks to cooking more at home. Trader Joe's is such a great store and this cookbook is such a great tool for showing me how to use the items available there. There are so many good meals that can be made in 15-30 minutes, perfect for those nights when I'm running late, don't have much time, or just want to relax. The recipe are fantastic and healthy - easy, manageable ingredient lists, and gorgeous photography on all the pages. A HUGE feature for me was the nutritional numbers that are included for all the recipes. Since getting serious about staying in shape, I've been paying more attention to labels and it's such a blessing to have the nutritional information available here because it's easy to get carried away at Trader Joe's with all the tempting products and shortcuts. I'm addicted to a handful of recipes including most of the soups, the Tamale Bake, the Baked Pearfection, and the White Chili. All so good and so easy. A big thumbs up from this mom.
This was very disappointing. I really enjoyed the authors' original Trader Joe's cookbook, but this one had hardly any "real" recipes, instead it had: Warm Trader Joe's taco meat, put in shells or assemble sandwich ingredients into bread item. Recipes from their other book have become weekly staples at my house, but this really didn't even come close. I've bookmarked the famous Tamale Pie to try, but nothing else. The upside to this book was the included complete nutrition information, but it can't make up for the complete lack of original creations. This was one book I wish I could return.
