    Excellent and a little irreverent

    I checked this out of the local library before buying as I am trying to wean myself from acquiring cookbooks (like shoes, I have way too many!). It is wonderful. I love the sections for each recipe on "why this recipe works." It's a really great omnibus cookbook from appetizers to desserts. It is on my Christmas want list. My favorite "quip" is about how you can't get zest from a glass bottle of key lime juice.

    Excellent cookbook

    One of my 3 most used cookbooks. Easy to follow, recipes that always turn out well. I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone.

    Just yesterday I had to return my library copy. My cook book hut

    Just yesterday I had to return my library copy. My cook book hutch is
    full after 22 years of cooking....but I will make room for this one. It
    is the perfect gift for the high school or college grad to get them
    started on a life time of gatherings with friends or family; memories
    will be made with this book. Every recipe I tried from grilled corn(one
    chapter on grilling!) to beef empanadas with spicy chorizo filling to
    the peach cobbler was excellent. Kitchen was a bit more messier but the
    table reviews of "Yum" were worth it.

    I would and have recommended this book

    I really licked this as it provides techniques as well as recipes in a format that is easily understandable to the home cook
