I have a great respect for the test kitchen so I was excited when I saw this book was comming out. It is not true to its title at all. BBQ is done in an oven or on a kettle grill. This is not BBQ! Poorly researched, I returned the book. The information is worse than bad it is missleading. I have cooked in professional kitchens and in my backyard on various grills and BBQ rigs for more than 20 years. What a disapointment.

There is not a bad piece of advice or bad recipe in this book. It is the absolute must-have for grilling method, and in true Cook's Illustrated style, it tells you WHY the method works -- the science behind getting it right. If you are giving a grilling book as a gift, this is your end-all, be-all book. I received it as a gift, and I've given it another dozen times, and every one of the recipients says it's the best grilling book they've ever received
