If you have Kenneth King's other book don't buy this one. It is just a repeat of the first.

I love Kenneth King. However, this book is just a repeat of the first book. The other issue that I don't find appealing is the lack of projects. He did this intentionally so that his techniques could be used in any project. The pictures are very good and the directions seem very thorough.

I have always admired Kenneth's fashion style and this book show

I have always admired Kenneth's fashion style and this book shows some of his of tricks such as choosing fabrics, understructure of fabrics, edge and seam finishes, piping and my favorite, pocket and buttonholes especially the welt pocket.

Love the embellishments such as Chinese knots and how to make your own tassels. The pictures are a big help also.

    helpful sewing book

This book was easy to navigate and has lots of useful sewing technique information. I know some reviewers were disappointed because it is too much like his earlier books, but since those books appear to be out of print and only available as used copies, it doesn't matter to me. I'd rather have a new copy anyway. Also interesting to note that on other bookseller sites the reviews for this book are all 4 and 5 stars. Not sure why the reviews are so low at Barnes & Noble?
