Meet the Author

SAM LAIRD is Inter-regional Advisor at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Switzerland. He is also Special Professor of International Economics at the University of Nottingham, UK, Research Associate at Trinity College, Ireland and Visiting Professor at the World Trade Institute, Switzerland. He worked previously at the World Bank and the WTO. He has published extensively on international trade policy.

SANTIAGO FERNÁNDEZ DE CÓRDOBA is Economist at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Switzerland. He is also Special Professor of Economics at the Universisdad de Navarra, Spain and has been a consultant for the World Bank, Ecuadorian Government and Andean community. He has published extensively on international trade policy.
