We have a lot of law enforcement relatives in our family and after reading this book, I forwarded it to one of them who read it and said that Al J. Venter "nailed it!!" I'd say that coming from a police officer that pretty much says it all.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

A really good book about the entrepreneur who came up with the newest incarnation of body armor. Well-written, fast-moving and generally excellent book. Interesting account also about starting a business from scratch, the marketing aspect, trials and tribulations etc.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Al J. Venter has again shown his superior abilities by crafting an informative and also touching tribute to the men and women of law enforcement who serve and protect. Readers will be surprised at the wide range of dangerous situations our police officers experience in the course of their job on a daily basis. Mr. Venter is able to bring out the human experience and emotions each brings to their job. Readers will be amazed at how seemingly benign events can suddenly turn into life-threatening attacks. Mr. Venter makes great use of the survivor's own testimony to convey precisely their thoughts and shock at the realization they are facing an individual with murder on their mind. This book is well researched with the author having traveled across the U.S. in order to personally gather the information on not only the violent incidents but also a brief glimpse into the personal lives of these heroes in blue. His documentation of Richard Davis' motivation for developing the "bullet-proof" vest and subsequent business ups and downs is a fine tribute to a great inventor and humanitarian. Great read and as entertaining as informative. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
