    Love it!

This is a "light-hearted" murder mystery series. With an independent sleuth as our heroine. Her two cats, while unique in their own right, are great sleuths as well. It seems they do aide their human in solving the crimes in this small town. I love the relationships that are developed between the different women in the town, of varying ages. And I love our heroine's resilience to over come her own heart ache. This will be the fourth in the series and I can't wait to read it!

    Fully enjoyable

The whole series is delightful. My only criticism is that she has so many continuing characters, she really should have a list of characters at the front of the book as several authors do. Particularly since several women's names start with the letter R, it gets hard to keep track of them all, at least for a while. I am anxiously waiting for the next one.

In Kelly’s paranormal cozy mystery novel, the rain in Mayville Heights has reached flooding proportions. The local artist’s co-op is close to flooding and Kathleen has been helping her friends move their artistic creations to the upper levels of the building. The artwork survives but a controversial mask-maker, Jaeger Merrill, doesn’t. He is found drowned in the basement of the co-op and questions linger as to if it was accidental or not. Teaming with detective Marcus Gordon and her extraordinary cats, Kathleen sets out to find the killer.

I’ve quickly become a fan of this fun mystery series. This is just one more awesome installment to the A Magical Cats Mystery series and I’m looking forward to the sequel.

This is a great series, i am a cat lover myself and found these books to be quite entertaining!! Hercules and Owen stole my heart with the first book but as they progressed in the series, i fell more in love with them :) however this whole Kathleen and Marcus back and forth thing is getting old, i wish they would hurry up and get together already, hopefully there will be more in this series, i will be keeping my eye out for 2 mischevious furr balls :)

Everyone thinks their cats are special—but Owen and Hercules have powers that go far beyond an adorable look or an irresistible purr. Along with their owner, librarian Kathleen Paulson, they have an uncanny instinct for solving crimes...

It's been raining cats and dogs in Mayville Heights. The small town's been deluged, and now the local artists' co-op is on the verge of flooding. Kathleen has been up all night helping her friends move their creations to the safety of the upstairs studio.

The artwork survives, but when controversial mask maker Jaeger Merrill is found drowned in the co-op basement, Kathleen questions whether the death was accidental. After she discovers the artist was using an assumed name, she realizes she can't actually assume anything about him. With the help of handsome detective Marcus Gordon—and her cats' extraordinary powers of detection—it's up to Kathleen to unmask a killer.

It’s been raining cats and dogs in Mayville Heights and the town just might float away if it doesn’t stop. Everyone is on edge, and if they have businesses on the main strip they are shoring up the place and pumping out water as fast as they can.
Kathleen is home with her two cats Owen and Hercules. Owen is not very happy about the rain boots he is modeling (he hates to get his paws wet) and Hercules appears to be laughing at him (as much as a cat can laugh). After removing the offending boots from Owen, Kathleen locked up the house and went to meet Maggie at the Artist’s Co-op to help move things up to the second floor so they wouldn’t get water damaged. Kathleen and Maggie move all the perishables up to the second floor and run into one of the other co-op members, Jaeger Merrill, who just has to get his .02 cents in even when no one wants to hear it. He has this plan to hire a manager to run the co-op and to look for corporate sponsorship.
The majority of the members aren’t interested he just keeps harping on it. It’s no wonder that a couple of hours later when Maggie is checking the water level in the basement she finds his dead body floating at the foot of the stairs. Who did it, and why are the main questions, and that is the crux of this story.
We find out many secrets and hidden pasts, things best left alone, and now shining in the light of day.
Copycat Killing is the third book in the Magical Cats Mystery series and by far the most complex one to date. I enjoyed it immensely and strongly suggest that you add it to your book ordering lists.
FTC Full Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book from the author, who only asked for a fair and impartial review of it.

Welcome back to Mayville Heights! I hope you brought your umbrel

Welcome back to Mayville Heights! I hope you brought your umbrella, boots and a rain slicker. It's been "raining cats and dogs" for days. There is flooding all over town. The local artists' co-op has a basement full of water and our favorite librarian Kathleen is helping her friends move their work to higher ground in case the water continues to rise.

All the artwork is saved but one artist isn't as lucky. Mask maker Jaeger Merrill is found drowned in the basement. The death doesn't look accidental to Kathleen. Detective Marcus Gordon is on the case and Kathleen along with her fantastic felines just can't help themselves from assisting him in any way they can. Owen and Hercules use their magic to help "unmask" the killer.

    Dollycas's Thoughts

These magical felines continue to steal the show! Hercules and Owen are truly special characters. Kathleen handles their powers much better than I would. All the characters are continuing to evolve. Heck the good detective may even get a library card in the next installment. Kathleen has definitely made herself at home in Mayville Heights. She has taken falling for a guy to a new level and finds something startling from Roma's past. And when Kathleen and Maggie get together there is never a dull moment. (Watch out for flying rodents!)

I especially enjoyed this story because of the history featured that creates a mystery inside of a mystery. The town is getting ready to celebrate the library’s centennial with a very special showcase of the groups that have met at the library over the years. One group was doing more than most people knew and some journals from Rebecca's mother are discovered that hold several secrets.

Well written, carefully plotted, a little romance and a bunch of humor. A purrfect cozy mystery!

Warriors Wiki Featured Cat Scourge of BloodClan Names: Kittypet:Tiny Rogue:Scourge Leader:Scourge Clan:BloodClan Mother:Quince Father:Jake Sister:Ruby Brother:Socks Mate:Willowfur Sons:None Daughters:None Grandsons:None Granddaughters:None Past:Kittypet Highest Rank:Leader History:The Rise of Scourge, The Darkest Hour, Ravenpaw's Path, Battles of the Clans, Cats of the Clans, Code of the Clans, Secrets of the Clans, Scourge Speaks:Blood is Everything, Violet's Doom, Willowfur's Tale, Indigo Sky, The Stars, Water Rushing, Bluestar's Prophecy, Moondown, Barley's Escape Description:Scourge is a small, rutheless, cold, unforgiving tom with one white front right paw, pale, ice-blue eyes, a torn left ear, a dark purple collar studded with dogs' and cats' teeth, and claws reinforced with dogs' teeth. He killed Tigerstar in one blow as he took all nine lives out of the ShadowClan leader. He has a mate named Willowfur and no kits. He was formerly a kittypet named Tiny until he was taunted that unwanted kittens were thrown in the river as a kittypet kit. He ran away in fear as he was the runt of his litter. He was seen by a patrol of three ThunderClan cats while exploring in the forest:Thistleclaw, Bluefur, and Thistleclaw's apprentice, Tigerpaw. Tigerpaw attacked him at his mentor's command. He barreled into him, pinned him down, and almost killed him. Bluefur, a blue-gray she-cat, yelled at them to stop. The bell on Tiny's collar had been torn off in the fight. Tigerpaw yelled that Tiny would never forget him. Tiny left with many scars, a grudge on Tigerpaw, and a desire for revenge. He'd never forget him. He tried to get his collar off. But it got stuck! All cats in Twolegplace laughed at him. He found a dog tooth and tried using it to get his collar off with it. He got it stuck, though. Frusterated, he padded over to where some cats were eating. Tiny asked them if he could share. When one of them asked him where he got his tooth, he lied that he fought a dog and ripped it right out of its head once it was dead! The cats let him eat after he told them that. Not long after that, two cats named Bone and Brick appeared. They told Tiny to follow them to where a huge dog made its nest. Tiny decides to fight it. The dog runs off because it's scared of Tiny's shadow. When a cat asks him his name, he tells her that it is Scourge. He is feared and high-respected and treated as a leader. One day, some cats tell him a gang of rogues are causing trouble. Scourge follows them. He kills one, claiming he has ice in his veins. He is now cold and an adult cat. He banned his littermates from BloodClan territory. He killed Tigerstar with a single blow. One day, a former RiverClan she-cat appears in Twolegplace of BloodClan territory, claiming her name is Willowfur. She has a pigeon for Scourge. Scourge takes the pigeon and eats it. He welcomes Willowfur into BloodClan territory. Willowfur seems just like Scourge. They kill an outcast of BloodClan who was plotting with Socks and Ruby together. After that, they fall in love. They know more about each other by day. They become mates. But no kits. They are both high-respected BloodClan members. Scourge is also known for speaking in a high-pitched voice. Cause of Death:Returned when was killed by Firestar, leader of ThunderClan. Trivia:Scourge did not walk the Dark Forest because he did not believe in StarClan Scourge still doesn't believe in StarClan or Warrior Code He is Firestar's half-brother

This was a good read. Dead bodies seems to find Kathleen when first she falls down an embankment and then finds one drowned in basement. Are the two incidents connected, despite being years apart? Is the drowning accidental or murder? That is what I faced as this book became a page-turner that I could not put down. The author did a good job in keeping me guessing in this mystifying whodunit. The story boasts a strong heroine who is making her own way in her newly adopted town, two friendly felines who are a whiz at communicating and a supporting cast that rounds out this charmingly terrific series and with that ending, I can’t wait for the next book in this lighthearted tale.
