Overview

The figure remained still as stone. Leslie couldn’t even detect a breath. Spider fingers teased the back of her neck. Leslie’s feet rooted to the pavement. She dropped her gaze to the driveway, seeking … what? Spatters of blood? Footprints? She saw nothing. Honed through her recent coverage of crime scene evidence, the testimony at last month’s trial, the reporter in Leslie spewed warnings: Notice everything, touch nothing. Leslie Williams hurries out to her car on a typical workday morning—and discovers a dead body inside. Why was the corpse left for her to find? And what is the meaning of the message pinned to its chest? In Coral Moon, the senseless murder of a beloved Kanner Lake citizen spirals the small Idaho town into a terrifying glimpse of spiritual forces beyond our world. What appears true seems impossible. Or is it?

If, like me, you thought the Kanner Lake series couldn't get any better or more complex after the strong opening of Violet Dawn ¿ well, join me in admitting we underestimated Brandilyn Collins' talent. Coral Moon is excellent. No slacking off here, or resting on the laurels of Book One. I found the story intense and even a bit creepy ¿ not the nightmare-inducing kind, but my skin did crawl during some portions. The characters I loved in Violet Dawn are back in full force, still very realistic and human. And, once again, when I'd finished the last page of the book, I wanted to hop on over to Java Joint, Kanner Lake's busy coffeeshop, to sit down and chat with the characters. I haven't had enough of them yet, and I'm really looking forward to Book Three in the fall.

Leslie Williams, roommate of Violet Dawns' Paige, leaves her house one morning and discovers a dead body in her car. After the shock wears off, anger emerges as more of her friends and acquaintances turn up dead. As Leslie vows to find a murderer, the only suspect is too hard to believe. Evil has come to Kanner Lake and Leslie is determined to send the spiritual forces back where they came from. I enjoyed Coral Moon more than Violet Dawn, because I was able to feel compassion for the heroine. For the trouble that befalls her. In the second book of her Kanner Lake series, Brandilyn Collins brings us a gutsy heroine determined to do good, regardless of the cost. A real page-turner. In the fashion of Frank Peretti, Brandilyn takes the reader on a spiritual journey, into battle between good and evil.

Brandilyn Collins delves into darker forces of evil in Coral Moon. Fictional Kanner Lake is populated with folks dabbling in the occult alongside praying people who sense the darkness emerging. Beautifully written in taut, suspenseful prose, Collins woos her readers to turn the page once again.

Thunderhawk padded from the warriors den just before dawn, to watch the sun rise. He sat in a corner of the camp and groomed, still keeping an eye on the sky. <p> Shallowwing slept soundly in her nest, dreaming.

We need a more active clan than this. I meen i love the idea of a clan that acts like a clan not a chatroom but this is not working. We might visit still but we are going to find a new clan.
