Cornelius and the dog Starby Diana Spyropulos
On his quest to become a better
While resting in his easy chair one evening, cantankerous old Cornelius Basset-Hound takes his last breath. Suddenly he is swept through a brilliant tunnel of light directly to the gates of Dog Heaven. There, Saint Bernard tells him, "You are not ready to enter heaven....Who wants to spend an eternity with a miserly old grouch?"
On his quest to become a better basset, Cornelius is befriended by Sirius, the Dog Star, and other angelic helpers. The tale ends with a tear when Cornelius is reborn in his own family. This book teaches the values of love, generosity, and playfulness; and it joyfully affirms the everlasting nature of Life.
