Description: This excellent book on all aspects of coronary artery disease (CAD) in women is edited by well-known and respected authors in this field and well-known authors have written all of the chapters. The book focuses on important epidemiologic, clinical, and potential therapeutic differences between men and women with known or suspected CAD.
Purpose: There are other books that have addressed some of the differences between genders regarding CAD, especially focusing on the issue of gender bias, but this book is more evidence-based and really emphasizes issues pertinent in the routine clinical management of women with known or suspected CAD.
Audience: This would be an appropriate resource for primary care as well as cardiovascular clinicians associated with the care of women, and also would be very useful for clinical investigators who study women with CAD or high-risk of CAD.
Features: This is a very comprehensive and well-written book that focuses in a very detailed manner on potentially important epidemiologic, clinical, and potential therapeutic differences between men and women with known or suspected CAD. In addition, the book is very evidence-based, much more so than many other books on this topic.
