A series of ...
A series of strange and wonderful events took place, which had actually occurred in many different guises from the day that she was born. When Pattie was three months old, her mother took her into a church, knelt before the altar, and dedicated her daughter's life to God-without asking for Pattie's permission, of course. There were many other strange and incredible events that happened all along the way that are revealed within the pages of this book-which altogether amounted to what Pattie decided had to be a clever, capricious and cunning scheme-if not an Absolute Cosmic Conspiracy!

If you find the world of psychics as interesting as I do and like to read memoir's then you will enjoy reading Cosmic Conspiracy. McLaine was not always aware of her gift, in fact she didn't begin to use it until 1966 while almost at the age of 30. At that time she was a newly divorced mother, working a full-time job at 20th Century Fox. McLaine explains how before that time, she had no interest in becoming a psychic or clairvoyant and makes a point to say that in the 1960's it was a practice that was very unacceptable and considered weird and strange. The first day patty did read was considered on her part a game, when a friend offered to sit in for the reading. Pattie McLaine worked at 20th Century Fox from 1965 until 1968 as a secretary in West Los Angeles, after she divorced from her first husband. First assigned to the script department, where she typed mimeograph sheets for teleplays and screenplays for a couple weeks. Pattie was soon given a real assignment, typing scripts for Claude Traverse the Associate Producer of The Legend of Jesse James. When the first episode of that television series aired, it was a mix of excitement and surrealism for Pattie as she sat on her sofa and watched with her children. Pattie worked on that lot for awhile where she also helped out with public relations on a sound stage and occasionally got to dress up and mingle for promotional parties and events. From taking notes for Barbara Stanwyck to riding in the elevator with Paul Newman, McLaine met and mingled with hundreds of movie stars and celebrities while she worked for 20th Century Fox. Pattie even sat on a park bench next to Mr Paul Newman and his kids during a baseball game. Pattie continued to mingle with the acting crowd, attending galas, parties and meeting more and more celebrities, many whom she still remains close friends with. In 1968 Pattie left her full-time job to be a full-time house wife and in the process she became a full-time psychic, who was soon making more than she had been earning at the studio. At first when she started reading, Pattie read for free and it was for close friends and family members. Later she started doing readings at work on her breaks, during lunch and after work for her co-workers. On the weekends she picked up regular clients that included actors, directors, writers, producers and even those in makeup and costume design. Cosmic Conspiracy is more than a memoir it is filled with interesting tidbits of the lives of many actors she knew personally and those she read for throughout the years. McLaine talks about many of those predictions made for the rich and famous and how and when they came to pass. You can learn about all the men that passed through Pattie's life, her children and her life traumas. Cosmic Conspiracy cannot possibly be read in one day, it is 408 hot pages, of the fascinating life of Patricia McLaine. A life that at her current age of 75 continues to shine and sparkle, as Pattie is still a practicing psychic, has a talk show on Blog Talk Radio: Exploring the Paranormal with Pattie, just published her third novel and has a list of books in the works. Let's not forget Pattie is computer savvy and amongst it all Pattie is truly inspirational.

Through this book I experienced the whole gamut of emotions with emphasis on curiosity because every page is fascinating and interesting. Patricia's life story is far more interesting than many of her prominent celebrity clients' life stories are. I say that with confidence because I have read many of their memoirs. Indeed, every opinion is subjective but if you are on the spiritual path I dare give you a promise, and that is that you will not be disappointed with this book, in fact, I think you will love it and want to read it again and again, I know I do.Was this review helpful? As children we often view the world through rose-colored glasses and know nothing of destiny. Some, Cosmic Conspiracy - Psychic to the Rich and Famous reveals, are destined for an entirely different path. Renowned psychic to the elite and author Patricia McLaine never intended to be a psychic consultant, much less a really popular one. More recently, her future-predicting skills have translated into a Blog Talk Radio show called "Exploring the Paranormal with Pattie."
It is important to note the reason behind the title Cosmic Conspiracy, since Patricia McLaine never consciously chose to pursue the field of the paranormal. Nonetheless, there was a conspiracy of cosmic proportions brewing that pushed her into becoming an international tarot reader, psychic, and astrologer. She has made thousands and thousands of predictions on love, marriage, children, divorce, home, health, wealth, career, family and friends, success and failure for myriad individuals.
In the course of reading for over 40,000 people, McLaine has traveled from one exotic locale to another. They include London, Madrid, Florence, Rome, Geneva, Ibiza, Bombay, Kathmandu, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Her list of famous clientele features prominent entertainers and authors such as Susan Strasberg, Goldie Hawn, Shirley MacLaine, Peter Sellers, and Michael Crichton, as well as notable journalists and a few politicians who ended up in the White House.
As with Patricia McLaine, destiny often does the picking. The 'cosmic conspiracy' began one Sunday when Patricia playfully 'pretended' to read a friend's cards. Using her own words, Pattie states, "Apparently, on that particular Sunday afternoon I was being cleverly set up, by my mischievous though astute spirit guides, for one of the biggest surprises and the very beginning of the most magical and mysterious adventure of my life! In my opinion, it was a clever, capricious and cunning scheme-if not an Absolute Cosmic Conspiracy!"
In a unique and indirect way, this book opens the reader's consciousness. Even those who don't believe in psychic abilities will find this book entertaining and enjoyable. Visit Patricia's official website to discover her extensive list of credentials, as well as her predictions for 2011 and previous years. You will be amazed and impressed.
Overall, Cosmic Conspiracy is a page-turner that will appeal to audiences from all walks of life. This book is a highly-recommended must read!
