A laminated pocket guide! The size is just right - 8 panels wide but it folds up to a standard brochure size. The pictures are big enough to discern the details but small enough that about 100 birds are shown. A color coded map points out the areas where the various birds will be found. There isn't much text - just a very brief description, but I would rather have more birds and decent sized pictures than more text. We are planning on rafting so the water-proof lamination is just perfect. I liked this so much that I bought four so that we don't have to share while traveling!
