    Costumes and Filigrees review

Costumes and Filigrees by Dayna Stevenson is a must read book that combines Gaston Learoux's original Phantom of the Opera and few parts of Andrew Lloyd Webber's version. It tells the story with more details from Christine's, Roul's and Erik's point of view in third person. Definately a must read

Fascinating take on a classic story!

I have always loved this story, but felt more sympathy for the Phantom than most people. This story is well written, and develops the characters with more depth than can be felt with the musical. I find this to be a very enjoyable read and recommend it highly.

Great book! I was put off a little at first by Christine's bratt

Great book! I was put off a little at first by Christine's bratty personality, but the way she grew and matured and found love was beautiful and very gratifying. I also loved all the little details and the cultural and historical references.

    Wow

It took me about four days to read this novel. I love the charscters so much except Ive never heard the story before so this was a first and i practically fell in love with the Phantom. In the beginning th main character christine is such a brat and she is so selfcentered for most of th book, but really close to the end i started to notice a change and i really hope that was on purpose because i liked it. But such a wonderful book and my heart melted for every heartwrenching line that was said.. especially when phantom says "why, christine, why?!"

How we wish the story ended

I loved this story! Although at first I didn't like how Christine was written (like a petulant spoiled brat that coveted other people's things), I did like the end result. Very well written, though at times the terminology was off putting. I don't think any of these characters would use phrasing such as "pretty interesting" or the like. Overall, it was very well done.
