Great book! I was put off a little at first by Christine's bratty personality, but the way she grew and matured and found love was beautiful and very gratifying. I also loved all the little details and the cultural and historical references.

I have always loved this story, but felt more sympathy for the Phantom than most people. This story is well written, and develops the characters with more depth than can be felt with the musical. I find this to be a very enjoyable read and recommend it highly.

Costumes and Filigrees by Dayna Stevenson is a must read book that combines Gaston Learoux's original Phantom of the Opera and few parts of Andrew Lloyd Webber's version. It tells the story with more details from Christine's, Roul's and Erik's point of view in third person. Definately a must read
