Autumn continued digging, until she reached some weird, red, bubbly stuff. It was hot, too. She decided she would check it out some other time, and flew back up go the surface. Strangely enough, a large congregation of ponies were standing in a circle, some crying, most noticeably her friends. She wondered what in the name of Celestia was going on, and trotted over. "Hey guys! What's up? Be quick, 'cause I gotta go catch my mix." Midnight fainted, Crooked muttered something about zombie ponies, Beats just paled, and Frost fell over. "Why're ya guys so shocked? Are...are we not friends?" Only thn did Autumn why there was a priest standing over a stone slab. "I musta been gone a while...eh?"

*rests her tail gently on Appleleaf's shoulder* "I lost a mate once too. I greived for looong time, but in the end I realized that it didn't help anything. It happened in the past. We can't change the past. Only the future. So greive him. Remember him. But move on. You can live a better life than you can if you suffer and mope. (Not saying you are, just that if you let yourself think about it too much, you might.) You are a strong cat, Appleleaf. I know you can overcome this. I'll give you some time alone to think." *the light gray leader pads back to camp to let her warrior think.* ~Autumnstar :3

Coto, Child of the Ocean is a unique and delightful book of adventure for independent readers ages 9, to 12, as well as readers of any other age. New author, Autumn Leaf, really captivates the reader through imagination, and scenic dialogue. Legend has it that Coto, a wild child of the ocean, is said to be mothered by a mighty white seal, is protected by the eyes of a hawk, and swims, and eats¿ side by side with the mammals of the sea, as if he is one of them. Unfortunate circumstances put Coto into a position of becoming the hunted after he is witness to a crime of illegal poaching to the seals, his family. He is accidently brought together with an old Indian named Lone Wolf, and his grandson Tiger, and soon all three are fighting for survival while trying to escape the criminal¿s wrath. It is an adventure right to the end. Destined to be a classic; Coto, Child of the Ocean.
