This is the first Danielle Steel book I've ever read and judging from her reputation I was expecting more that what I got from this book. The characters were shallow and their actions were unrealistic. When I finish a book I usually feel like I'm losing a friend becuase I get so wrapped up in the characters. When I finished this book the only emotion I felt was disappointment. The characters were paired of in an unnatural manner and I did not feel connected. There was also a lot of unnecessary repetition that threw me off course when I would have to read back and make sure that there really was that much repetitiona dn I was not just loosing my mind. All in all the idea behind the book was interesting, but it appeared to be hastily written with little thought about being believable.

I really liked this book. I stopped reading Danielle Steel for a while because I felt she was getting too predictable but after reading the Cottage I am going to start reading her again. I love her style and I thought the characters where perfect. The plot was predictable but the story kept me reading.

I love Danielle Steele but this book was sort of boring. Her earlier books is what made me a fan. Maybe if she takes a break and stop writing so much, her future books won't be so predictable.

Danielle Steel has written some good books, none really great, but at least somewhat interesting. This is not true of 'The Cottage'!! One of the most boring books I have ever read. Totally predictable.

It was a great book in my eyes except for the ending. It was too drawn out and overly explained in areas it should'nt. Alot of the book was repeatative and kind of made you loose interest. Being the time I read this it was fit for summer.

This book spoke of a person trying to change his world buy hurting people, and him self. Coop was always running from one situation to another.

If you can get past the description of Cooper Winslow in the beginning without wanting to toss your cookies you're doing good. I used to be a fan of Danielle Steele's but lately it seems to me that she is just churning these books out without a whole lot of thought as to whether they are really good or not. Thumbs down from me on this one.

This was a good book. i would recommend it however i felt the book was lacking at the end... i was hoping for a little more. she gave a lot of detail in the begining and middle of the book maybe even TOO much and you would have thought that she would have finished it in that manner, however it was as if she got tired of writing at the end... however in all it was a good read

I'm a true Danielle Steel fan--there is nothing that she has published that I haven't read. This book is not 'vintage Danielle Steel' quality but it is the best I've read in several years. Good story and interesting characters.

i can't believe that this wonderful author would write such a bad story. It not even is worth one star. It's very bad. If you haven't read it, don't read it!

I have read the outtake that was on the internet and I can hardly wait until I can purchase this for my collection. I believe the title 'The Cottage' really puts a wonderful view of brightly blooming flowers, fresh air and green meadows into my mind.

Ms. Steele has always delivered to her audience. She is insightful while being brilliant in her stories. I love her books and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. 'The Cottage' is a wonderful read that any Danielle Steele fan would snap up.
