About the Author

Don Burgess has written numerous books for and about the Tarahumara of Chihuahua, Mexico. Born in Texas, he is a linguist/translator of Ralámuli, who has lived in the Sierra since the 1960s. Bob Schalkwijk moved to Mexico from the Netherlands in 1958. Three books about the Tarahumara, their landscapes and people published in 1975, 1985 and 2014 distinguish his work. To date, his more than 400,000 photographs span 45 countries. Bob Schalkwijk llegó a México de Holanda en 1958.
