Meet the Author

Frederick Hertz is an attorney and mediator with offices in Oakland and San Francisco. His practice centers on drafting real property co-ownership agreements, cohabitation agreements, and premarital agreements for couples, both gay and straight, and mediating co-ownership and other disputes between married and unmarried couples, business partners, tenants-in-common, co-owners, family members, and domestic partners. He also mediates all varieties of real estate disputes. Mr. Hertz writes and speaks nationally on property issues facing unmarried partners. He is the author of several books and has been quoted in The New York Times, the Advocate, American Demographics, Hero Magazine, Kiplingers Magazine, and the New York Observer, and has appeared on NPR's All Things Considered, Sound Money, and on the Oprah Winfrey Show and the Today Show.
