Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ashleigh Vanada
Maisy the mouse is back to make counting even more exciting and learnable! The fun, vibrant colors help to capture children's attention and introduce them to the world of numbers. As they discover the numbers 1 to 10, they will also meet what Maisy encounters: one ladybug, two flowers, three buckles, four colors, five pencils, six fish, seven steps, eight ducks, nine leaves, and ten fleas. Now they can learn faster when they reinforce what they have read with the sturdy, kid-friendly blocks. Each brightly-colored block entertains two bold numbers, appealing illustrations, and a puzzle of Maisy counting. Infants and preschoolers will enjoy building their confidence through learning numbers and how to count! Reviewer: Ashleigh Vanada

    Cheerful book, but cardboard blocks

This is a bright and colorful book, with objects on each page to count, such as one ladybug, eight ducks, etc. Most of the have items that are easy to count, but the page with "three buckles" on a pirate Maisy is a little different. The last page is ten fleas jumping off an elephant. It is a nice, heavy and sturdy book, and when deciding to purchase it, that is hard to tell, because it is in a packaged set. The cover of the book has raised letters and some of the illustration outlines are raised, so that adds some texture. The blocks are colorful, but be aware they are either paper or cardboard with colorful stickers affixed to the outside. They are not wood blocks which can be used in a day care, preschool setting.
