Loved all three books of the series....I really enjoy the books she writes in a series. Wish one could go on forever! It's always a disappointment when the series ends.

This is my second read book by Jude Deveraux.I loved this book. There were times when i could not stop reading.I loved Nicole, but i could not stand Bianca. She was a horrible person. Many times i wanted to slap Clay for his stupidity.I was surprised that Nicole could forgive him his foolishness.I started to like Wes charachter.I cant't wait to read more of him in " River Lady".

I read this book ages ago and never forgot it. Recently I wondered about the old book but I didn't know the name ir author. So I dug into my nook and started searching. Thank goodness jude has a familiar way to show her name. I started with this one and am now on my fourth book. I love them even more now.

It really started out as a great read, but Nicole's increasing insistence on giving Clayton another chance after he obviously doesn't appreciate her is frustrating. I just wanted to wring Nicole's neck and wished Clayton ended up with the fat ho in the end for his own good. And the ending. What in the world was that??? I had to check the back of the book a couple of times to make sure that it really was the end. Who ends a book with no sequel on a cliffhanger???

I was excited to have purchase this book since I love the author and the way she writes. Unfortunately, this was a disappointment. In the beginning, it seems like they will be together but the main character (Nicole) is rather stupid and naive and that becomes frustrating! The husband (Clayton Armstrong) seems like he's not really in the picture towards the middle of the story. The ending was terrible. I was confused and thought there was more to it, but no it just leaves you hanging! Didn't enjoy it as I thought I would.

The premise for this book is what caught my attention but the story itself disappointed, especially as a huge J. Deveraux fan. I liked Nicole's character and the contrasting view of the very bloody French revolution with 18th century revolutionary America and, because of it, I think this story could have been something so much more... but the character development and the relationship development was uneven AND voluminous... sometimes less is more.
