Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Eleanor Heldrich
This thin, standard-sized book has a light blue front cover, a yellow back cover and seven double-page spreads in between. There are thirteen words in total: "One Bug, Two Bugs, Three Bugs, Four; Five Bugs, Six Bugs, Bugs galore." Just the right number of butterflies appear on all but the last page, which shows twelve. The words appear on the left pages and the numbers on the right, while most of the butterflies pop up from the center of each spread. The construction of the movable bugs is interesting and not as simple as it first appears. All the butterflies are colorful and no two are alike. This makes it fun and easy for young readers to determine whether or not the original six reprise on the last page. Reviewer: Eleanor Heldrich
