Overview

For two days the storm has taken over the city, and two people's lives.

A man convinces himself that his life is worthless when his lover leaves him for another man. Alone and depressed, he allows his life to spiral out of control. As the storm burdened days pass, he slides further into oblivion, sinking into the bowels of civilization, to be counted among the derelict of society and into a haze of booze, sex and drugs.

When a wife and mother discovers, in grisly detail, that her husband is having an affair, she plots her revenge. Her anger and desires for vengeance are aided by an old friend who saves her from life during a suicidal midnight visit into the abyss of the city. Conscience and reason eventually take hold again, only to be washed away in the ensuing storm.

    more from this reviewer

    Dark and graphic short stories

This novella consists of two short stories that are very dark in their nature and ending, and some graphic scenes; the author says he started with erotica, and while there is one scene in the first story that could be considered erotic, the rest is . highly disturbing. Well-written, overall, but disturbing. I didn't really like the stories - there is enough darkness in my life - but I have to give four stars simply because the mechanics of the stories are good. There are some issues with misused words - site for sight, things like that - which is what cost the fifth star.

I would recommend this book for fans of noir and dark fiction.
