Overview

The popular bunny siblings are back in two more board books-but as their baby selves.

In Love, readers find out who Max loves best. Is it the one who wakes him? The one who takes him for a ride? The one who plays with him? The one who stays with him?

In Counting Peas, an ill-timed sneeze sends Max's peas in all directions. Max helps out by picking them up: five, two, seven.

With eye-catching novelty elements, these irresistible board books will introduce the very youngest readers to the beloved bunny pair, who star in their own show on Nick Jr. and Noggin.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Ken Marantz and Sylvia Marantz
In this hand-size, counting, board book from the "Baby Max and Ruby" series, Max is eating the peas being fed to him when a sudden sneeze scatters peas everywhere. In brief rhymed couplets we are told that he puts the peas in his shoe, counting erratically rather than accurately as he goes, but soon is tired of peas and requests, "...strawberries! Please!" Peas are shown and counted one to ten at the beginning, and raised in bumps for touching fun. The two cuddly anthropomorphic bunnies are depicted in colored sketches with some collage. The last double page showing the strawberries flying through the air into Max's mouth makes for an amusing ending. Reviewer: Ken Marantz and Sylvia Marantz
