About the Author

Michael is a local artist from the Jacksonville area. He was born in Gulfport, MS, and has been drawing faces since early childhood. Beginning in the first grade his papers were filled with doodles of silly faces, both of animals and people. Although he still "doodles" he has completed over 3000 original, creative faces. "I draw faces, faces are what I draw. It may be silly, but it's what I love to do. Everyone has a special gift unique to them. Finding that gift, developing it, and knowing that you are good at it, makes all the difference in the world. I love it because it is fun!
Mike took drawing and art classes at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, and is a member of the Florida chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
