This is a fictionalized account of the creation of Kaiser Permanente, the granddaddy of HMOs. Dr. Bernstein has told a fascinating story of its creation and successful rise in the face of resistance from the medical establishment. Highly recommended.

It just makes sense! Sidney Garfield started a system of medicine based on keeping us well. Imagine that! Doctors that make money keeping their patients healthy instead of sick. What a great idea. It¿s obvious why the AMA tried so hard to put him out of business. I totally loved this book...worth the time..it took me just a day to finish the whole book because i was so interested in what was going to happen next.
