Hubert Hall (1857-1944) was a historian and civil servant. An officer of the Civil Service, Hall kept much of his writing in the government archives—he later introduced his work to the public, writing many books, including A History of the Custom-Revenue in England, Society in the Elizabethan Age, and Studies in English Official Documents.
