Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
The third Spellbound Falls paranormal contemporary (after Charmed by His Love) is full of intrigue and passion. When mysterious and beautiful Jane Smith suddenly appears in the wilderness near Alec MacKeage’s temporary home, he is stunned but smitten. After he fights off the two men chasing her, she begs to remain hidden with him. He agrees, and despite her reticence, it doesn’t take long for Alec to learn more about her and her past. As they begin relying upon each other for more than just food and shelter, they recognize each other’s inner strength and deep loyalty. But when Jane’s supernatural family tracks her down, Alec and Jane must re-evaluate their thoughts of a future together. The ambiguous nature of Chapman’s magical world may confuse readers, and an abundance of repeated phrases is grating, but the engaging plot and red-hot romance are satisfying. (Sept.)

    Not as good

Janet is slipping. I have read all her books and it seems like after moonlight warrior the quality of her writing is going down. It's sad and I keep hoping she will get back to the great reads she came out with in the beginning.

    Not her best installment...

I was disappointed with this installment of Chapman's Spellbound falls series. I don't think the characters' back story went deep enough & it all seemed sort of bland compared to some of her other stories. Meh!

    Really Good

Love this series and Carolina's story was just as good as I expected. Glad that Mz. Chapman added a hero from the Highlanders, hope to read more stories about them.

    Fantastic Writer

I wish that she could put out more books. I loved everyone and read them in order though some you dont reaaly have to. Her books keep you laughing, theres excitment, romantic banter and Ive found nother wrong with one. I just wish there were more of her same quality. Ive read everyone. Not highly sexual but they keep you locked into each story. Love how she made the charactors bkend into different eras. Great!

    Another enjoyable read

Janet Chapman has done it again. The plot and characters were well balanced. I stayed up all night reading this story. I'm looking forward to the next story in the series.

    Highly Recommended

Alec MacKeage was a ski bum, he was creating an amazing adventure trail for the new 5 star resort that would open in a month. During a freakish thunderstorm he rescues a beautiful woman who is being chased by kidnappers and after a little begging on her part he allows he to stay with him for a few days. But when those days stretch past a week, Alec finds himself fighting his attraction to the mysterious Jane Smith—despite knowing the woman isn’t who she claims to be. Then again, neither is he…

Jane is really Carolina Oceanus decided she didn‘t want to be trapped in a loveless marriage, and decided to run away. Now years later she’ll do anything to avoid the six ancient-minded men her father has brought to Maine for the grand opening ball for the resort to try and win her hand. But as the maddening competition heats up, Carolina realizes that she’ll have to come clean to Alec, the seductive loner who’s managed to capture her heart…

An absolutely amazing storyline! Makes you wonder how life would be if we all still had Father’s like Tidus. Champan really has brought an old style way of life as well as Mythology into the 21st century. Every women wants her Knight in Shining armor to find and rescue her. So if you haven’t found your Knight just yet, then I’d say pick up this book and imagine yourself being in Jane’s shoes.

    Expected more but still good

This was a good story but seemed to lack the depth the other two in this series and other highlander stories. Still...a good romance....light hearted and funny. Kept waiting for more about her kidnapping...but it just fizzled.

Janet still writes a good story. Cannot wait for the next story about Nicholas.
