Catherine “C.C.” Calhoun isn’t about to let anyone take away the Towers—her family’s crumbling mansion—especially not handsome hotel magnate Trenton St. James. The first of five related books copyright is 1991. If you are a Roberts fan you will recognize the character types and plot lines in these books. This is quality genre fiction. That said, one of the great things about Roberts is that her writing continues to improve. Her books may reprise certain story lines (haunted buildings, family dynamics, etc) and her archetypic heroes and heroines reappear with minor changes but the writing today is even crisper, tighter, and much wittier.
