Through engaging storytelling and powerful photographs, Courting Equality takes readers through the volatile public debate following the decision and introduces some of the many lesbian and gay families who have taken advantage of equal marriage laws. In Massachusetts, equal marriage has not destroyed the family but rather has reinforced the importance of love, commitment, fairness, and equality to the functioning of healthy democratic communities.

This book is both beautiful to look at and filled with information regarding issues around same-sex marriage and the undeniable connection between the right to marry and cival rights for all. The book is well written, easy to read, and the photographs are highly professional and moving. While clearly supportive of same-sex marriage, the book serves as an educational tool for anyone interested in trying to actually understand this 'hot button' issue by using the ultimate success of the struggle to legalize the right to marry in MA. Great coffee table book for stimulating conversation with family and friends. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
