    "LOVE BEARETH ALL THINGS"

Courting Morrow Little was, in a word- BREATHTAKING! Breathtaking landscapes, breathtaking characters, breathtaking forgiveness, breathtaking LOVE- all conveyed through the breathtaking prose of the brilliant, ridiculously talented Laura Frantz! She turns black ink into rich, vibrant color, creating love and life like few authors are able to claim. With each turn of the page her characters become permanently engraved upon your heart. Laura employs all five of your senses to transport you into a scene- you're not just "reading" her books, your "experiencing" them! She has an unparalleled skill of making you identify with her characters on a deep and personal level, while only giving you the POV of one of them. Their emotions are conveyed so perfectly and their hearts are revealed so completely through Morrow's eyes, and yet there is an air of mystery about them that brings even more depth and richness to the story.

"LOVE beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." (1Corinthians 13:7). This scripture wasn't just quoted in this book, it was its essence! I knew I was in for an incredible journey when I got chills just two pages into it. I felt an instant connection with Morrow. Her pain, her hurt, her fear became so real to me, a part of me. Her reactions are so authentic and identifiable. She grows so strong in the grace of God throughout the story that you can't help but grow right along with her. To watch the beautiful transformation as she allows the Lord to break the chains of fear and unforgiveness that hold her heart and soul captive was so powerful and inspiring.

And our handsome hero, Red Shirt, *swoon* is EVERYTHING a heroine dreams of in her hero. He's strong, courageous and powerful, yet humble, gentle, and patient, a warrior, a protector, a leader. Their love, fragile at first then strengthening over time, enduring in the midst of great trials and hardships was so incredibly beautiful to watch unfold.

Laura keeps you on the edge of your seat, the twists and turns are simply brilliant! Her love of writing and her love for God shines so radiantly through every word. Coming to the last page was bittersweet for me, overjoyed to see where the story took them yet hating to let them go. This book was truly one of my favorites of all time, one I will definitely reread again and again!! I'm not even going to put it on the shelf because that just seems blasphemous somehow. Nope, it's staying out on my desk for easy access, adding such beauty and giving such inspiration- it's the kind of book that puts a smile on your face just looking at it!!

Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz

Laura Frantz is a very gifted writer and this is her second book, the first one being "The Frontiersman's Daughter". She has an unparalleled skill of making you identify with her characters on a deep and personal level.

From back of book: Morrow Little is haunted by the memory of the day her family was torn apart by raiding Shawnee warriors. Now that she is nearly a grown woman and her father is ailing, she must make difficult choices about the future. Several men-ranging from the undesired to the unthinkable-view for her attentions, but she finds herself inexplicably drawn to a forbidden love that both terrifies and intrigues her. Can she betray the memory of her lost loved ones-and garner suspicion from her friends -by pursuing a life with him? Or should she seal her own misery by marring a man she doesn't love?

LOVE beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." (1Corinthians 13:7). This scripture is quoted a lot in this story. The plot starts in Red River Kentucke, July 1765. Morrow was only five when she and her brother Jess were in the river playing in the water, there was a lot of racket that Jess heard but she was just having fun and didn't pay any attention to it. Jess told her to sit in the water and not to move as he ran toward the house. She sit and sit and no one came back to find her, so she went to the house and had to step over her baby sister laying on the steps, no one was around and then she found her mama stumped over her loom with an arrow through her, she started to scream.

Morrow lived with her dad and they didn't know what happened to Jess, but he was prayed for everyday. Two Shawnee would come to their house and just walk in, Morrow's dad accepted them as friends. She could never understand how her dad could be friends with the people that killed her family.

As time goes on and she begins to grow up she becomes friend with the Indian boy that comes to their home with his father. Will she have to marry someone she doesn't love or will she wait until she can marry the love of her life. There really is not a place to even stop in this review but I can't give everything away.

If you are looking for an exceptional and special historical romance to read, this is the book for you. You will not want it to end as there is really not a place to stop, you must go to the next page. I loved it!

This book was sent to me by the author and Baker Publishing to review.

    Amazing book!

I have never read any of Laura Frantz's books before. I picked this one up when it was free at one time. I just got around to reading it but I hate the fact that I waited so long to read it. Frantz keeps you on the edge of your seat. Its beautifully woven with adventure and romance. Frantz is going on my favorite author list and I cant wait to read her other books.

I absolutely loved this book. I wanted to read a historical fict

I absolutely loved this book. I wanted to read a historical fiction novel, as this one is, but it is so much more than that. I loved seeing the way Morrow Little transformed in this book. She started out as a very weak woman who many men liked but they all believed she could not handle the life where they live. So many people told her she was not built for that life and to move East where it would be easier and she could marry a British officer: which Morrow did not want in the slightest. She used to hate the Shawnee natives for what they did to her family, yet she learns the skill of forgiveness as her father taught her. My favorite aspect of this book was her relationship with Red Shirt. They are perfect together in so many ways. I also loved that Morrow becomes stronger as the book goes on and is not afraid of anything anymore. Morrow stands up for herself and her beliefs. This book is somewhat of a sequel to The Frontiersman's Daughter, which I am actually going to read next, since this novel involves Lael Clicks father quite a bit and Lael was referenced in a line where Morrow said everyone knew who Lael Click was. This book was wonderful. It was exquisitely written and made me feel a varying array of emotions throughout. I recommend this book whole heartedly.

The author uses such rich descriptive language that I felt drawn into the story from the first page to the last. There were points I was in tears, and my heart was breaking for the pain I felt for the characters. Being from Baker Publishing, there are some scripture references - that helped to build the story of forgiveness, love and redemption. An excellent read!

    Fantastic Frontier Fiction!

This is Ms. Frantz’s second book, her debut being the spectacular “The Frontiersman’s Daughter”. Laura Frantz has the most beautiful writing voice out there, a gorgeous, poetic style that is haunting.
CML presents a lesser-explored side of the American Revolution – those people who were more sympathetic to the British and to those native Americans who chose to side with them. It takes one talented writer to make me, an 18th century story world patriot, feel sympathetic to the characters’ plights in CML, but Laura Frantz accomplished that!
This had an extremely satisfying ending – the best I have read over the past two years, the other being The Frontiersman’s Daughter. All the loose ends were tied up in a way that made sense. Ms. Frantz kept this story moving through the middle all the way to the end. There was no sagging middle here yet she did give breaks from the action, also.

Bibliotherapy: Trauma, death, bereavement, and were the main bibliotherapy elements. There were several deaths, one being very significant but was hinted at early on and throughout so that it was expected. The main loss was handled very well and in a meaningful and realistic manner.

    Extrodinary!

I simply could not get enough of this book! From the very first page to the very last, I was completely captivated by the beautiful story Ms. Frantz has wonderfully constructed. Morrow Little's fear of the Shawnee Indians blinds her, keeping her from forgiving them for what they did to her family when she was just a little girl. However, when the handsome Red Shirt appears, she is at first afraid of him and treats him rudely. But soon, she begins to warm up to him and eventually falls head over heels in love with him. Morrow is such an admirable and lovely character, her strength and ability to trust Red Shirt, as well as God,is so fascinating. And then there's Red Shirt, the handsome and mesmerizing hero. He is so very gentle and patient with Morrow, making the romance of this story ever so sweet. This book isn't filled with the typical, every thing works out romance, that most books have. It is a true portrayal of what love really is and it proves that love beareth ALL things. Morrow and Red Shirt face many different feelings, trials, and dangers that test their love for each other to the very end. I highly recommend this book! But, I warn you that it will be VERY, VERY hard to put this book down!!!

A lot of fear, trembling and near-fainting...

This is the first book I have read by Laura Frantz. With 25 reviews averaging 4.5 stars, I expected to LOVE this book, and was delighted with the prospect of finding a new author. Don't get me wrong....this was not a BAD book. I found the historical details of the Kentucke territory to be very interesting. The story moved along at a nice pace. Ms. Frantz is a talented writer. The real problem I had was that I didn't really care for Morrow Little. Her most striking characteristic seemed to be that she was very beautiful with no real awareness of the effect/attention her beauty attracted. In fact, she did not seem to be very SELF-AWARE at all. Through at least the first half of the book, she constantly trembled, hid, cried and swooned.....she refused to reflect deeply on deep thoughts and avoided having meaningful conversations with those closest to her. Are there people like Morrow Little in the world? Sure. But it was frustrating reading and made liking and rooting for her difficult. Fortunately, somewhere in the second half of the book, Morrow begins finding her courage. This was a beautifully-written book; unfortunately, I just didn't particularly care for the heroine. I look forward to reading other books written by Ms. Frantz.

    So Amazing

This book has now become one of my most favorite of all time! I was sort of skeptical going into it, because I had read reviews on it, and was like "She falls in love with an Indian?" Yet it was so refreshing and out of the box. I loved it! Laura Frantz has alwways had the power in her books to make the characters come alive, and make you relate to them with real emotion. I felt so fiercely attached to Morrow and Red Shirt, and all that they'd gone through. I will definitely be reading this book again!

Love bears all things in this magnificent novel!

Upon the recommendation of a dear friend, I read this magnificent book! The characters and setting are written in such a way that captures your heart, and never lets it go! The story is unique, and I have never read another that is quite like it. I could see everything so clearly in my mind's eye, due to the fact that Laura Frantz is an exceptional writer, with an amazing talent for creating a scene and making you FEEL the emotion of the characters. Though this is not a time period that I was very familiar with, Laura gives just the right amount of historical information, and she blends it perfectly with the story. I was so captivated by Morrow's story, and so drawn in to the romance. The passionate moments were so well done that they took my breath away! I could feel the love and longing that Morrow felt for her forbidden love, and it kept me turning pages long into the night. Courting Morrow Little is so well written; I highly recommend to all! This love story is not to be missed!

    Love on the Frontier

Gifted author Laura Frantz sweeps her readers into 18th century Kentucke for a captivating tale of loss, love, and changed lives. With consummate skill, Frantz paints a vivid picture of the frontier her heroine, Morrow Little, calls home, bringing to life a time and place rich in history. Frantz peoples this world with characters sure to steal her reader's hearts, from her determined heroine to the vastly different men who vie for her affection, one who is the stuff heroes are made of: strong, loyal, and incredibly handsome. The tale takes readers on an adventure-filled journey along with Morrow, one that forces her to face her fears, extend forgiveness, and embrace her faith. Those who can't get enough of the Colonial era will thoroughly enjoy Frantz's moving story.

Another fantastic frontier book from Laura Frantz

This is Ms. Frantz's second book, her debut being the spectacular "The Frontiersman's Daughter". If you love frontier fiction, especially colonial era, both of Ms. Frantz's books need to be in your library!
This book presents a lesser-explored side of the American Revolution - those people who were more sympathetic to the British and to those native Americans who chose to side with them. This historical inspirational romance has themes of coping with loss, growing in maturity, and forgiveness. Courting Morrow Little had an extremely satisfying ending - probably the best I have read over the past year since The Frontiersman's Daughter came out. All the loose ends were tied up in a way that made sense. Ms. Frantz kept this story moving through the middle all the way to the end.

    A great read

Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz is a historical fiction set in the late 1700's. Morrow is a pastor's daughter in Kentucky who is haunted by memories of her past and her inability to forgive. Trying to find her way during impending war towards love, security and happiness, Morrow is determined to stand on her own. But when her father's health threatens to leave her alone and at the mercy of the men who will do nearly anything to have her, can she put aside her bitterness to find true love with her enemy? A story of love, forgiveness, and war, this book took me back in time and stranded me there. I couldn't put it down.

What I loved about this book: I loved the length of this book. There were a number of places that the author could have ended the story however she chose to give it more depth and went on. It never lost my interest and the story flowed nearly effortlessly as it was woven. I loved the sense of reality this book held. It was very believable and it was obvious that Laura did her research on writing this book.

What I didn't like about this book: Morrow Little is depicted as a subdued, almost breakable little woman. I thought her character itself could have been more believable. Although it held the ring of authenticity as women were dependant on the male's in their lives, she just sits back as her life is decided for her. I think it would have been more believable if she had at least shown some anger or persuasion. Also, the love story between Morrow and "Red Shirt" is a little bit cliche. I think it could have been developed more effectively.

I would recommend Courting Morrow Little to anyone interested in historical fiction or romance in particular. It is a great book for a gift or just to read on a rainy day.
