Hardcover, 1993 edition. Publisher: Palmer/Pletsch publishing

Of all the books I own about sewing this is the best book about this topic. As Peti Palmer wrote in the foreword, this book will change you level of appreciation for the fine art of sewing and spending extra time to achieve perfection and special details. It is about concepts how to approach a technique or a way of accomplishing a particular look. I do not recommend for beginners, a certain experience is needed to put into the practice. Illustrations are examples how to make an unique from the ready patterns. Content starts at some history and fundamentals and goes through the practical details, e.g. pressing, darts, bias techniques, princess line, perfect sleeves and different shape buttonholes. Only one is missing: I have not found help for pants fitting and constructing. Illustrated with the author`s and contributor`s designed and constructed beautiful garments, color photos for inspiration.
