PreS-Gr 2-While the other barnyard animals have a party in the barn, Cow stays outside. The animals agree that she "-is missing what Christmas is all about: being together with family and friends, eating great food, telling fun stories, and getting presents-!" But cow has been making a snow Nativity scene, which brings up the subject of Jesus's humble birthplace. Sheep explains, "But that's the way God chose to do it!-He didn't need a lot of money or an expensive place to live. He came to us for Christmas!" The cartoon depictions of these cross-eyed animals seem at odds with the weighty and didactic text.-S. P. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
