Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Cow wanted to impress her friends and agreed to do something that she knew was against the rules. The barnyard animals heard her say she would climb up on the Farmer's tractor. They all knew it was against the rules. Cow was not sure she could, but with the encouragement of her friends she climbed onto the tractor. All the animals jumped on too. All was going well until Cow accidentally started the tractor. It lurched off with all the animals on board. The tractor crashed through the barn and hit some barrels and tools. It roared out of the barn and across the field. It eventually ended up in the river. Farmer arrived and told them that they could have been seriously hurt. Cow felt very sorry. She knew that there were reasons for rules even when she did not understand them. God's rules are meant to keep us safe too. They must be important as they are from God. 2003, Baker, Ages 5 to 8.
