This was one of the best books of the serious. I will always love the first book the most because it started my love for the entire family, but I honestly loved this book just as much! I couldn't put it down, read it in two days.

OMG! This is another one you have to read!

I love all her books!

But, this to me has been the best one so far!

Cowgirls Don't Cry is the tenth book in the Rough Riders series. While I do encourage readers to enjoy all nine of the previously published books, familiarity with previous events is not necessary for all-out enjoyment of the latest story. This book is for lovers of romance, family drama, hot sex and delicious cowboys. Prepare to be swept away as a little boy, a cowboy and a widow climb right into your heart.

Four years ago, Jesse McKay met and fell in love with Luke McKay. Quickly wed after becoming pregnant, their marriage began to fall apart after her miscarriage. Jesse continued to try to be everything for Luke even though he resumed his bar hoppin', girl hoppin' ways. When Luke died in a car crash two years ago, Jesse's world fell apart. Her birth father had left her, her stepfather for the most part had left her, and now her husband had left her. Talk about bad Ju Ju.

Brandt McKay fell in love with Jesse the first night he saw her at a bar. He bided his time until last year, when he confessed his feelings to Jesse only to be given the "we're just friends" speech. Even though she crushed his heart, he's back on her door step with his hat in his hand begging for a favor, to help him care for Luke's illegitimate son while his mother is in jail for six months.

Thank goodness Jesse has more of a backbone now than when she was with Luke. She stands up to Brandt and lays down some rules. But growing a backbone doesn't come at the cost of her heart. She sees the little boy as a victim of Luke's infidelity as much as she was, and of course our big hearted cowgirl agrees to help Brandt out.

There is so much more to this story. Plenty of family drama courtesy of Casper McKay and check ins with the entire McKay clan, but my delight definitely centered around getting to know Brandt and Jesse better. I enjoyed watching them struggle with the real life scenarios new parents face, all the while learning to lean on each other. And by the time they let loose and add the bedroom to their 'playing house' fun, it was full steam ahead. I can guarantee their windows were all fogged up.

Cowgirls Don't Cry is a book I can easily recommend to anyone. Yep, there's a bunch of hot sex, but nothing I think the typical romance reader would flinch at. Blush maybe. But not flinch. It's got wonderfully sculpted pacing, well-developed characters with raw and realistic edges, and a number of plot lines that will make you tear up and then cheer. Enjoy!

Very sexy book. I love the way finally Jessie lets her guard do

Very sexy book. I love the way finally Jessie lets her guard down where brandt is concerned. This book was sad and made me angry at Luke for what he did to Jessie and to Brandt regarding Jessie because he Luke was being selfish. Jessie is very strong where Luke's infedility is concerned and I don't if I could have done it, but who knows until you're in that kind of situation. When Brandt and Jessie finally get together it is hot too!!!! I'm glad that Jessie finally quits playing friend/brother card and gives in to her desires.

Better plot than the others, Love it !!!!

I really enjoyed readindg this book moren the other in the series, to be considerate erotic or whatever in the category you dont have to acutually write a sex scenes evry two pages and I was more than glad to see more plot on this one! Thank you Lorelei James!
The characters are amazing and the brothers and cousins friendship is awsome! Big families, big fights, big weddings, big love! You will love it !

This book is about Luke's widow, Jessie and his younger brother, Brandt, who has always had a crush on Jessie. It has been a couple of years since Luke was killed in a car accident. Brandt asks a lot of Jessie in order to help him out with a problem left behind by Luke. You can't help but feel sorry for Jessie who was cut off from Luke's side of the family once he died and really seems to be on her own. She finally sees that Brandt is nothing like his brother who cheated on her constantly. You see both Brandt and Jessie grown more confident in themselves and as part of a couple. You see Jessie's strenghth when she has had a lot to deal with as a young woman and came through it all. You can't help but pull for them to work things out so they can get on with living and finally finding happiness together. Really enjoyed the characters.

Another winner from Ms. James. Great storyline, love the McKay clan and all the humor and conflict and of course the really hot sex. I'm impressed by Ms. James' ability to write such engrossing stories with hot sex that really adds to the storyline, lots of times I get bored with the sex scenes by other authors and feel they are the whole purpose of the book, not the storyline and characters. Well done!!

A keeper! Although, just about any in the Rough Riders series are keepers!

Fast paced erotica.

A nice mix of story and plot with character development with a some erotica thrown in...Not as good as some of the other stories in the series. Not for the young crowd.

Lorelei James has a real steaming winner with this series; one is better than the next. Cowgirls don't cry was hot! I like many of the scenes without it being too raunchy. I've read them all and I'm now reading #12 - WOW!!!
