I purchased 2 of these, one for my daughter & one for my step-daughter, for Christmas giving. I am an advanced crocheter and they have both shown an interest, but they are out of the home now and don't really have the time to come over to learn. Both of them started almost as soon as the box was open! The instructions are very clear, the hooks are pretty nice for plastic (lighter & more practical for beginners), and there are tons of idea cards (that offer GREAT beginner options) with wonderful pictures to inspire that 'first' project! Huge hit...I was very pleased!

I bought this for my 10 year old granddaughter. It is too difficult for her to follow the instructions, even with adult supervision. I think preteens don't have the patience or attention span required. It would make a great gift for teens and adults. Very clear, easy to follow instructions and illustrations.

I gave this as a gift to a person new to crochet. It has lots of easy patterns and is a great gift. The value was outstanding. I am going to borrow it myself. Thanks.

This was my first time with knitting and I had no problems. I was able to create a hat for my boyfriend and boots for my best friend's baby.
Really nice to start with. It has a lot of hooks, so you don't have to buy nothing other than the yarn. And just to start there is some yarn for the first project...so much fun!!

it's unfortunate that for some project, teddy bear for example,
the instructions are incorrect. There is no way to follow them.
Is this meant for the beginner? Don't think so.

I love this kit! I've crocheted for 40+ years and this kit is tops in my book. I learned to crochet on plastic hooks but moved to steel only to find them uncomfortable and cold. Being reintroduced to the comfort of a plastic hook (in a great shade of sage green) is wonderful. There are hooks, stitch markers, pretty yarn and 25 diverse patterns. The patterns, written on heavy cardstock, are portable (place them in a ziploc to keep clean yet this makes them easier to read.) The pictures are great and I'm starting my third project. I am purchasing several as gifts for my daughter's friends as it's unique, practical and pretty. I hope to see additional kits to add to my collection. I won't be without this kit!
