All Music Guide - James Chrispell
Surprisingly familiar, yet new and intriguing, is the best way to describe CPR. For anyone who's a fan of David Crosby's best work over the years, CPR will make them think they've found heaven. With more than admirable help from guitarist Jeff Pevar and keyboardist James Raymond, Crosby hands us a gem that shines with all the magic of the old and with the enthusiasm of the new. The harmonies are rich and the music textured with a love not readily found these days. What makes this even more incredible is the fact that James Raymond is the son David Crosby never knew about until they were united just before Crosby nearly lost his life to liver failure. Their love and ...

A New Classic Band Is Born!

You think I am overstating it? No way bub (or bubba!). I admit the following bias up front. I am a huge STILLS... Young, then... Crosby & Nash fan, and in THAT order! Loved the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and Hollies too, mainly dicovered THEM after the first CSN/Y vinyls wore out on me as a kid... So, CPR another permutation of a tired old patriarch of the ''California Sound?'' Well, if you liked the Eagles (in their day), and Poco (in THEIR day) and of course CSN/Y (sadly, recently in their DAZE) you will taste and savor the sweet nectar of CPR. The opus opens with ''Morrison'' a song about depression and final exit that rekindles the sweet/bitter feel of so many of the great works of this extended family of musicians. Other neet patters include ''Little Blind Fish'' with Peeve's sweet acoustic noodling on the edge, ''One For Every Moment'' (Raymonds ode to love of wife, and a geogeous thought set to music not mush) and for sheer honesty ''Time is the Final Currency'' with it's admission that we are all terminal (some are just richer than others). As I write this, I have heard all the titles below and believe me you will want to own this one and ''Gravity'' at the bare minimum to be sure CPR is always available in your home and on your wheels.
