Don't Fear Amber's Review. No AP Calculus prep book could have prepaired you for the May 2007 test. That test was so much harder than any other test ever given in history. I took the BC test, left three free response questions blank and still scored a Five. This book was only designed to prepair you for a test like previous ones.
After taking the AP Calculus AB exam, I felt this book inadequately prepared me for the questions that were presented on the May 2007 test. Although it has good review lessons with formulas, most of the practice tests/problems are too simple and gives the reader a false sense of security. Some of the free response questions on the test were not even present in the book, and although the book covers all the concepts in Calculus, the lessons are insufficient compared to the type of problems that appeared on the exam.
I took AP Calculus BC in 8th Grade, so I know a good Calculus book when I see one. This one is excellent! It had a few questions missing, but overall I'd reccomend this to everyone taking Calculus AB or BC.
I took Calc AB last year, and my teacher was nice enough to purchase the princeton review for us. It's easy to follow, and really good review. Only problem is that their free-response questions were missing one type that come up a lot on the AP. But overall it's really good.
