For anyone wishing to open a craft buisness

I found this book extremely useful! I have been running my own small mail order craft business for three years and had become frustrated by the lack of interest and income. This book gave excellent examples of what a person should and should not do while launching a craft business. I highly recommend the companion book Craft Inc: Business Planner to really outline and implement your ideas and stratagies.

Great reasource for crafters who are starting or growing a business.

Up to date information on the crafts business written by a successful crafts business owner.  I was looking for information I could use to price my quilts and was surprised and delighted to find a quilter profile in the book.  Candid bios of craft business owners are sprinkled throughout the book and discuss mistakes made along the way as well as successes and current challenges.  The back cover description states that this is "the ultimate guide to turning what you do for fun into what you do for money".  The book starts with your creative side, then discusses the necessity of developing your business side.  Branding, production and pricing, marketing and PR, making sales and order fulfillment round out the chapters.   It is not heavy on financial calculations, break even analysis or other startup financial concerns - topics easily found in other small business startup books. The book opened my eyes to everything that I need to think about in order to grow my craft business. Entertaining and easy to read.

    A reviewer

This clever little book is sized just right to take with you and read on the go (waiting in the line at the post office, at the doctor's office, etc.) It is well-written with a slight sense of humor and tons of basic, sensible information on starting a craft business. The interviews with people who earn a living solely off their crafts are really great, too.
