this book had a lot of world building. i could easily see the southern countryside where ellie lived and feel the danger of constant fights between the coopers and bumbalows. it was neat to see the world where magic was first and reality was second. it was sort of harry potter-ish in that way, as if ellie was the witch and the rest of the world were muggles. it was neat in that she was fully aware of who she was and didn't have to go through that period where she discovers the truth or any of that nonsense. it helped get directly into the storyline without much trouble. the idea of two families at war isn't exactly new but the author managed to make it feel fresh and inviting. ellie was sweet and, though like a kid in a lot of ways, very smart. her relationship with thane was as important as the feud between them. the ending was surprising, but i thought it was built up to in a new, smooth way. i hope there is a sequel.

I came to this after reading the Watchers series by Lynnie. I thought it would be more of the same kind of paranormal romance. While it does have some measure of romance, it is definitely not the same as the watchers. This isn't a bad thing. It had great world building.....I could almost feel the hot summer heat of the south, and great characters. Ellie was relateable. Her magic was not overdone. Overall, I was impressed. I lope Lynnie writes more stories like this.

I really liked this. I would recommend it to teens, tweens, and even people 18-20. It was really good and I found myself coming back to the story, wondering what would happen next. It pulled me into the world effortlessly. I hope there are more books to come.

Craft is an extraordinarily well written young adult novel. In this day in age, it is difficult to find someone with a true original idea. Craft is exactly that. It's combination of solid storytelling, character development, and detail give this jewel a unique voice in a sea of unoriginal ideas. I found myself completely lost in the story and compellingly empathetic towards Ellie. I would recommend Craft to anyone.

    Slight spoliers
I didn't think I would like this. there are so many witch and wizard books out there. but i was immediately hooked. the character grew and felt real. the feud was very romeo and juliet or hatfield and mccoy. the end was surprising but i definitely felt it was put together well. i really liked it.

    Just ok.

I loved the watcher and guardian series,i wish there were more,so i was excited to find this series. Unfortunately it wasnt that great,i had a hard time staying interested in the book,in fact i though about not finishing it several times. The story line felt under developed and the writing seemed very immature and juvinile. Also i got very tired of hearing the words, craft and crafting used over and over with no further explanation of how it worked, save you money and read the watcher or guardian series.
