Overview

John Compton hopes the isolation of his new home in Ontario's far north will heal him from the pain of his most recent break-up. Living alone in the old Crane Manor, he'll be free to be his workaholic self, burying into his investigations for the Omega Insurance Company, and forgetting about everything else.

But Stormbridge is a town that holds onto its secrets, including the secret of murdered Sarah Crane, whose ghost intrudes on John's isolation. Sarah's contemporaries at the time of her death are now the movers and doers of the community -- the OPP officer, the real estate agent who looked after the Manor while it was empty, and the man John is tracking for insurance fraud. And at the bottom of it all -- the nasty business of smuggling illegal, big city drugs into small town tranquility.

In the process of doing his job, and facing things about himself he's successfully evaded for years, John shakes loose the town's secrets, and puts a tormented soul to rest.

This 670 page novel was different then most murder mysteries. There is ghost, who helps solve her own murder. There is hardly any violence and what there is, is rather tame. There is not any cursing, sex or religion. There is humor and some romance. The editing, while not perfect, is much better then most free books. It is a nice, clean read. The characters are likable, the plot well thought out and the conclusion is just right for this book. It has a touch of Christmas magic. I do not usually care for any book with any type of the paranormal in it, even though I do like Koontz and King, but I found this light read entertaining and refreshing. It reminded me of the old black and white movies, "TOPPER". This is a stand alone novel and not part of a series. I would recommend this book to readers 14 and up. AD

This book was the absolute best! When I read that it had a ghost in it I was sure I would not like it. So glad I decided to give it a try. Loved it!

Enjoyed every page. Good friends, some romance without graphic sex scenes (hip hip hurray), and even some jerks that got payback.

...silently he watched their antics...quickly ripping out their throats, and once again, silently, disappearing into the gloom.

Quietly, he sneaks into the room. He grabs her, and he strips her. He tackles her to a bed. He tied her down. While fingering her puzzy, he said ,"Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Your choice
