    Very Deep, Emotional Book

It took me a while to get used to the writers style of writing. Once I got used to it though, I finished these books pretty quickly. You become attached to the main character, Kristina/Bree, and wish you could stop her before she makes decisions. I'm going to download the 3rd book of this series today. I can't wait to see how it all ends.

    I'm Addicted to Hopkins

I purchased this combo pack of Crank and Glass because someone purchased me Fallout by Ellen Hopkins as a gift. This series is AMAzingly addictive! I read all 1200 pages in 4 days. Recommend to anyone who wants an inside peek into a Meth addict.

when i read glass, i was so impress with the unique story telling but when move on to glass, i started doubt the motive of the story. It keeps telling us to understand why kristina keeps moving toward monster. that girl is weak, the family is a mess and like giving the girl the whole reason to keep the monster inside her.

I simply couldn't put it down. Yes, it has sexual content and drug abuse and a lot of bad language blah blah blah -__- BUT whats so much different on TV? I think everyone should read this book (and the other two, Glass & Fallout) to give them a true wake up call on the effect of drugs and how they can ruin someone by just a one time usage. Any parent that disallows a kid to read this book is complete nonsense. I'm 14 and if it had any affect on me, it must have been my hatred of drugs. After this book, it made me realize what they do to you and that it wasn't just something that you could do. It was something that destroyed you day by day. Its an exceptional book and a true life lesson. A MUST read if I may add. :)

    Not suited for young readers

I really didn't care for this book whatsoever. I wish I hadn't polluted my mind with such garbage. There was nothing inspiring or useful about this story, and it certainly isn't something I'd recommend. I read it in the hopes of understanding a friend that I had who had trouble with addiction. Mostly, it just made me sick. None of the characters were endearing and mostly I found them to be one-dimensional and honestly, quite pathetic. I was in my twenties when I read it, and I would suggest that it not be read by anyone much younger than that. The content is quite mature and is not something that I would imagine parents wanting their children to dwell on.
My suggestion, however, is that you just don't read it.

    So-So

I've been stuck in a battle of whether or not to love Ellen Hopkins books. On one side I'm geared towards hating the simplistic "mock-poetry" writing style and the way Ms. Hopkins spaces out the story to bring more emotion into each page. In all honesty, an average reader could get through this book in a couple of hours. The other side of me enjoys the storyline. The downward spiral that this girl takes is hard to read at some points, but at other moments the story flat lines to the point where I have to put the book down. Overall, I think that Ms. Hopkins made a solid book for people who are looking for a simple drama, but if you're wanting something else then you're out of luck. I understand that this is a children's book, but considering that the author chose to write about substance abuse I feel as though the books should have really focused on the meth addiction and how it was destroying the main characters' body. I'd definitely recommend this series to younger friends and anyone else ages 12-14.

    Truly breathtaking!

Crank is a really good book with strong character emotions to make you feel as if you are the character. The plot is very realistic and exciting. Definitely a great book for reading.

To read this, you need to have tolerance. ;)

    Crank, and Glass.
These books were the first I ever read from Ellen Hopkins - by the way, check out her other books; Burned, Identical, and Impulse. Crank has to be my all-time favorite, but that might just be that it was my first ever book by her, and different from what I was reading before her. Like Stephenie Meyer, and other sorts. Ellen Hopkins is edgy and new, and definetly a fun read. But as I stated in the headline, you have to have tolerance of the main character, and others that come along. For me, Kristina Georgia Snow A.K.A. Bree - is like the alter me. I can understand her completely, but sometimes, I have to smack the book, the character is witty, and definetly a laugh. She doesn't always make the right decisions, but I think we all have a little of her in us.

    I Also Recommend:

    Crank

The author does a really good job describing how young adults get addicted to "Crank". Even though this book ended up with the teen having a baby it really allows teens and parents understand the effect that Crank had on the person.

I bought this pack due to the great reviews and it was AMAZING. It is written in a freestyle poetry style which i wasnt too happy about. BUT gosh did i change my mind. I will never forget this book. I read Crank in one day, and now im starting Glass. I give Ellen Hopkins a standing ovation and thank her for her excellence in these books. If you dont read this, you'll regret it.
