Cranky Crocodile

Cranky Crocodile

by Rebecca Johnson

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Crocodiles can be cranky sometimes. This is the story of the life of a crocodile. The photographer did an excellent job of taking pictures of crocodiles doing various activities. The photographs of the inside of the mouth of the crocodile are especially dramatic. Toward the end of the book he captured a picture of a crocodile carrying its young to the water. This book teaches young children about the lifestyle of the crocodile. The text complements the photographs by telling about the day-to-day activities of the crocodile in story format. The back cover of the book contains a paragraph for parents to read and understand a little more about the behavior of crocodiles. This book is one in the series entitled "Animal Storybooks," which teaches children about the lives of animals. Children who are interested in animals will enjoy this series. Libraries and classroom settings will benefit by having them as part of the collections. 2006, Gareth Stevens Publishing, Ages 4 to 8.
