This was a very enjoyable and fun book to read. The worlds and alien races created by Larry Niven are dreamlike, and the characters rich in personality and color. Beowulf Shaeffer is a Crashlander, a member of the human race born of another planet. He becomes a space traveler and adventurer, typically finding himself in situations not to his liking but managing to get out unscathed. I would recommend this book to any lover of sci-fi and fantasy. This was the first Larry Niven book I've read. I plan to read more!
