Overview

CRAVED is Book #10 in the #1 Bestselling series THE VAMPIRE JOURNALS, which begins with Book #1, TURNED

In CRAVED, 16 year old Scarlet Paine struggles to find out exactly what she’s becoming. Her erratic behavior has alienated her new boyfriend, Blake, and she struggles to make amends, and to make him understand. But the problem is, she can barely understand herself what’s happening to her.

At the same time, the new boy in school, the mysterious Sage, comes into her life. Their paths keep intertwining, and although she tries to avoid it, he directly pursues her, despite the objections of her best friend, Maria, who has her own eyes set on Sage. Scarlet finds herself swept away by Sage, who takes her into his world, past the gates of his family’s historic river mansion. As their relationship deepens, she begins to learn more about his mysterious past, his family, and the secrets he must hold. They spend the most romantic time she can imagine, on a secluded island in the Hudson, and she is convinced she has found the true love of her life.

But then she is devastated to learn Sage’s biggest secret of all: he is not human, either, and he has only a few weeks left to live. Tragically, just at the moment when destiny has brought her greatest love, it also seems fated to tear them apart.

As Scarlet returns to the high school parties leading up to the big dance, she ends up in a huge falling-out with her friends, who excommunicate her from their group. At the same time, Vivian rounds up the popular girls to make her life hell, leading to an unavoidable confrontation. Scarlet’s forced to sneak out, making matters worse with her parents, and soon finds pressure building from all sides. The only light in her life is Sage. But he is still holding back some of his secrets, and Blake resurfaces, determined to pursue her.

Caitlin, meanwhile, is determined to find a way to reverse Scarlet’s vampirism. What she finds leads her on a journey to find the antidote, deep into the darkest corners of rare libraries and bookstores—and to an ancient discovery she can hardly imagine.

But it may be too late. Scarlet is changing rapidly, barely able to control what she’s becoming. She wants to be with Sage—but fate seems set on tearing them apart. As the book culminates in an action-packed and shocking twist, Scarlet will be left with a monumental choice—one that will change the world forever. How much is she willing to risk for love?

I have always loved Morgan Rice's books. They are always very difficult for me to put down because I just have to know what will happen next. Morgan does a wonderful job at being descriptive and letting you feel like you are in the book with the characters. But, oh poor Scarlet. Honestly, if being a teenager wasn't tough enough on a kid, try going through it and changing into a vampire too! Between wanting to feed on your boyfriend, mean girls, and best friends feeling betrayed Scarlet is exhausted and feels she has no one left to turn to. Her parents are to much to handle, Vivian is constantly trying to either verbally or physically abuse Scarlet, and when Maria finds out that Sage has chosen Scarlet over her, Scarlet loses her best friend.

Poor Caitlin and Caleb, as if raising a teenager doesn't come with its own set of challenges, lets add one parent who believes she was a vampire once, and another that thinks that his wife has lost her mind. Caitlin is off to Paris to attempt to find the other half of the ritual that could possibly save Scarlet, if she doesn't feed first. Caleb feels like Caitlin has walked out on him and Scarlet at the most critical time. When Scarlet sneaks out Caleb has had enough, and when Vivian tells him that Blake offered Scarlet drugs, Caleb is convinced he is right, it is drugs with Scarlet.

Scarlet decides that she has nothing more to lose and decides to runaway with Sage, but this only ends in disaster.....

On the edge of my seat again.

A great read, again. It is an easy relaxing read that kept me turning pages to find out what is next. I considered this the tenth book in the series and I have read them all. I did not think new characters, enemies and creatures could have been added, but they are. This book set the tone for the next books and made sure that I want the next books in this series out now. There are familiar characters and twists that were unpredicted even with 9 prior books. All of it make me want to find out what happens next right now. The ending was great with many of the characters in play including what an old name/new character as a potential lasting enemy and powerful enemy. But who knows what may happen with Morgan Rice in this series. Keep them coming !!

    very addicting

I love the Vampire Journals series and this next series is just as good. I couldn't put these books down! My only issue is that they seem a little repetative, but they still keep you hooked and wanting more :)

    Hm

Ya, i believe if these became a movie, it could top twifart and vampire diarea. I hate them so much, they have to many myths. But yhis is not my favorite series either, ill proboly make a wierd nick nae for it to. But it has less myths and more fact. And becuz i said it would top them does not mean i ,ike them or will see them. Jist that it most likley will top them. Bit whu am i reading the books then? The books r better than the movies. If u dont agree, u do u have a nook?
