Welcome to Willow Creek. People are happy, crime is practically nonexistent, life is good...unless you're Sabine Crowley, who has been chosen to be the next blood bag for the vampire lord who has protected the town from otherworldly creatures for 200 years.
Sabine has big dreams for her life, and none of them include becoming a vampire's concubine. On her 18th birthday, she seeks solitude to process the cruel turn her destiny has taken. As she sits alone in Cleary Park, a sexy stranger approaches her. He's tall, mysterious, handsome, and a complete jerk. He soon reveals himself to be a vampire and she's terrified of him and her strange attraction to him. She wants to get as far away from him as possible, yet finds herself wondering if she'll see him again.
Remy, the cocky newcomer vampire, has been summoned by his maker, Bastian, to take his place beside him in the hierarchy of vampires inhabiting Willow Creek. He's none too thrilled to be stuck in a boring little town in the middle of nowhere where he'll have to feed exclusively from the girl he's been paired with. He's repulsed by the whole situation.
When Sabine tries to run away from her fate, Remy is forced to follow and bring her back. They're unwillingly thrust into each other's lives and reluctantly find an undeniable attraction between themselves. Will they ever look past their contempt for one another and act on their urges? Or are they destined to hate each other forever?

Meet the Author

So what can I say here? I'm a lady who likes to cuss...a lot...like every sentence if I can get by with it, though I know how to behave myself around children and the easily offended. I'm a self-published author who never considered writing a novel until after I was 30 years old. I decided to give it a shot, and, to my surprise, people actually like my story! I have a couple other stories I'm working on and a ton of other ideas for future works. I'm a little bit sarcastic (okay, a lot sarcastic), and I like to laugh just about as much as I like to bitch about things that annoy me. Oh, and I am head over heels in love with designer shoes. That's me in a nutshell.

I picked up this book, spacing out what it was about, just knowing it was next on my TBR list and WOW, I could not put this book down, and I didn't want to! Sabine, is a normal girl, or really that's all she wants. Just a normal life. To play sports, have her parents push her to get straight A's, dream and plan out which college she will go to after college, and to have her parents support her love of art. But Willow Creek has a history, and the founders have made a promise still effecting the lives of everyone 200 years later. Sabine has been chosen, on her 18th birthday, as the next sacrifice for the town to the vampire lord, as a food source, to keep the rest of the town safe for another 10 years. Remy Has been called back to Willow Creek, a place that makes him wish he could be anywhere else except there. He learns he is to be paired with Sabine until the end of her life. He is less than thrilled, but when Sabine plans to run away just before her 21st birthday he follows. Sabine's plans to run are ruined, but the events that happen over the following few days surprise both her and Remy. Wow! Love this book! I love the attraction between Sabine and Remy. I love that it's not a case of "insta-love" but rather how they each act in a way that feels natural for their character, and then realize that they have an attraction to the other, then watching them deal with it. Their attraction builds over time, they deal with it over time. I loved Sabine's sassy attitude, and Remy's humor and how he likes to mess with Sabine. Sabine's fight between her attraction for Remy and her desire for independence battle throughout the book, I think most people have faced contrasting feelings and they are not always easy to deal with. Her conflict felt real. This book will leave you Craving more! I can't wait to read more from this wonderful author!

Stephanie Summers’s “Willow Creek: Craving” is the beginning of a great new series. It has elements of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” and Suzanne Collins’s “Hunger Games” mixed into a spicy paranormal romance. I love the dream sex – very Lynsay Sands. The characters and the story are very well-developed. I can’t wait to read more about Willow Creek which is apparently some sort of vortex for beasties (like Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Sunnydale). Basically, this is a very skillful blending of the best plot elements from your favorite storylines into a unique new series.

This is book one in the Willow Creek Series.  Book two is out now. So there is a cliffhanger, but you will be able to read the next book right away.  This is Sabine and Remy's story. On Sabine's 18th birthday she will find out that she is the towns sacrifice for the vampires that live there. Every ten years they give up one of their own to keep the vampires happy and in return the vampires protect their town. The Vampires get to pick from the kids that turn 18 on the year of the choosing.  Sabine knows that her time is coming up and although she loathes the idea of being a snack for a vampire she knows that this is something that she has to do. It has been this way for over 200 years.  Remy doesn't want anything to do with this town, and he certainly doesn't want anything to do with Sabine. He is only here because his master has summoned him and he must obey. Remy cannot stand Sabine and once she meets him the feeling is very mutual.   All that is left for Sabine to do is try and run. If she can get away and not be noticed she can start a new life. When she does run Remy is forced to follow her and bring her back to this "boring town". Even though Sabine can't stand the thought of being a slave to the vampire she still finds herself oddly attracted to him and thinking about him all the time. And just the thought of drinking from the same human for the rest of her existence does not make Remy too happy. But he finds himself attracted to her also? What will become of these two? Will they finally face their attraction towards each other or will their hatred and annoyances consume them?  I love paranormal books, I love vampire books. This was a great story and had a great twist. . I was captivated from the beginning and couldn't get through it fast enough. I thought Remy was funny, and I knew he had a heart even before he did. He was a gentleman in disguise. After all is said and done I got to the end of the book and there was a cliffhanger!! Luckily, book two is out and I was ready to dig right in .. As soon as I caught up on my sleep that I missed because I couldn't put this book down!!  Looking forward to reading book two!!! Thank you for a wonderful book full of surprises.

The book was great. Had some issues that I think needed a little more back story. Overall it was a good read. I won't be buying the books they don't seem to catch my interest. But I am cool reading this book as a stand alone. It was funny, kinda teenage love and flirting. Vampires have a arrangement with humans to roam free in this town but something is luring supernatural creatures and through out the story they hint at it but this book is mostly based on the main characters and how they develop feelings for one another.

5 cupcakes Sabine was an average girl in a small town, but this small town had vampires openly living in the community. On her 18th birth day Sabine was one of many born in the same year, holding their breathe. Why you ask? Because Willow Creek was a community protected by the vampires in exchange for one human every ten years, picked on their 18th birthday to be blood mates. Sabine wanted to graduate high school and explore the world while painting on the side. She had hopes and dreams and on her 18th birthday they were destroyed because she was picked. Would she ever get to see her family or friends again? Is she just dinner for this vampire or so much more? Can she still she the world and paint her way through Europe? Read it! I absolutely loved this book. In the beginning I dreaded the ending because how Remy treated Sabine, but half way through I realized maybe I was jumping ahead way to fast. It’d be interesting to actually see a town where no fast food restaurant existed! My favorite scene was the dress closet. Every girl’s paradise! I found Sabine snobby at first because she was being forced into slavery it changed my mind.  I recommend this book to vampire lovers and paranormal romance readers. 18 + for her vivid dreams of sex and actual sex lol and of course blood, guts and gore oh my! Reviewer for Sweets Books and Stephanie Summers.
