Meet the Author

A prolific and influential scholar known to believers and skeptics alike as “the father of modern creation science,” Dr. Henry M. Morris truly was a man of science and a staunch man of God. He was even said to have set the terms of debate about evolution for the second half of the 20th century by one Pulitzer Prize-winning academician. Dr. Morris began his serious study of the Bible in the 1930s and authoring books in the 1940s, but it was his landmark work, co-authored with Dr. John Whitcomb, titled The Genesis Flood in 1961 that influenced generations to begin discovering the fallacies of evolution and the biblical truth of creation.

With over 60 books, founding and leading the Institute for Creation Research (ICR), Dr. Morris’ death in 2006 was a profound loss to millions.

Dr. Morris created a thriving legacy that continues to equip many Christians to be able to defend the accuracy and authority of Scripture today. The new Henry Morris Study Bible and other resources that he developed remain essential sources of knowledge and understanding for believers.

    Good, but needs updating

I just finished this book after taking nearly two weeks to read it (highly unusual for me). I was at first intrigued by it because I have always been deeply interested in biblical prophecy, but am not very educated in the subject. The book of Revelation has always been a struggle for me on my own, so I look for help when I can get it! This book is different from many other books on prophesies of the last days because it lays out in a very detailed, straightforward way how Revelation not only explains to us the events that will unfold, but also shows how even at the end of days, everything relates back to the BEGINNING of days, when God created everything.

I have to admit that the first half of this book was slightly dry. I struggled through it. Although the content was interesting, it was written with a textbook style that I just could not relate to. The second half, however, changed things for me and grabbed my attention in such a way that I had trouble putting the book down! I don't necessarily think that the writing style changed, but to me the content had me captivated. Dr. Morris laid out the rapture, tribulation, and the 1,000 year reign of Jesus in such a way that quite honestly had my heart pining for that day when He returns!

All in all, this is a great read for anyone wanting to learn more about the prophesies in Revelation and how they relate to the Creation and the last days. I do feel that I should point out that this book was first published in 1991, so some information is slightly outdated.

    Creatioin and the Second Coming

Creation and the Second Coming by Henry M. Morris is a timely book on biblical prophecy, published by Master Books. Countless books and, documentaries and movies on prophecy have been written, especially within the past few years, in light of new economic, scientific, atmospheric, political and environmental developements. Morris' book, in particular, does not appear very modern in accordance with modern professional printing press techniques- with its stiff, cardboard like pages, and antiquated type- setting/ font. Nevertheless, the text itself is very biblically based with its extensive use of scripture to back up the author's assertions. The author relates the old testament writing as well as new testament writings to modern events which are actually taking place. Political events such as those in the Mid-East, as well as religious/ spritiual trends such as the Islamic and New Age movements are considered as well. Old testament prophecy such as that from the book of Daniel are considered in great detail. If you can get past the bold, black font, and stiff pages, then this book is sure to shed light on biblical prophecy and how modern day events fit in. Perhaps a more modern update and newly designed cover for this book, might make it more appealing and professional to modern day readers. In its current form, it looks like the quality one might expect from a self publishing company or a personal computer. As a blogger for New Leaf Bloggers I recieved a copy of this book for the purpose of writing this review. The opinions expressed are my own.
