I read this book in the author's class, and loved it. His writing style is clear and concise and he goes into great detail without being burdensome and stuffy. Overall, an excellent book.

Gordon S. Wood is one of the best minds on the subject of the ideology of the radical movement in the colonies during this period. He gives great details; laying out the foundation for a great story with the details to keep his peers interested, Wood's work is vital for all historians and the 'regular joe' to read. One of the best books written on the topic.
