Reader copy; Collectible First Edition, 1947-Very Oversized Hardcover. NO DUST JACKET. Cover art different from what is pictured. First Published by the Viking Press in 1947. ... The red spine area of the boards has a long tear approximately 3 inches from the top spine area. The fabric is still present but the binding is visible. The bottom spine area is frayed on the bottom edge and the spine is soiled and faded. The gray portion of the cloth boards is lightly stained near the top, soiled throughout, worn on top and bottom edges and on corners, which are also frayed and bumped. The bound text is still tight but the red outer spine area is loose. The top blue-dyed edge is faded. The side/bottom edges are soiled toned. The bottom edge has light stain as well as a thin strip of an ink mark approximately 1 1/2 inches long as well as a few small dots of ink. Spine is cracked at 1st blank page of book.
